July 10 - August 28, 2025
Reception: Thursday, July 10, 6-8PM

The William Way LGBT Community Center is proud to present the 19th Annual Group Art Exhibition, on view in our lobby from July 10 to August 28, 2025, featuring the work of three exceptional Philadelphia-based LGBTQ+ visual artists: Daniel de Jesús, Kenzi Crash, and James Rose. These three artists were selected by Gabriel Martinez as the Juror Award recipients from our Annual Juried Art Exhibition earlier this year.

Daniel de Jesús creates art that blends Catholic iconography, mysticism, and queer identity through symbolic figures like the unicorn and Saint Sebastian. His work explores queerness as a mystical journey, using sacred imagery to express liberation, beauty, and self-transcendence.

Kenzi Crash’s I Am Your Treasure is a project which explores queer intimacy by incorporating erotic, kink-positive boudoir photography within an art installation. Centered around a bedroom installation with a vanity, masks, and adorned frames, the work celebrates queer bodies and the transformative power of reclaiming what has been cast aside.

James Rose explores identity, emotion, and human experience through simple, often self-referential figurative drawings. His Backboned Series features large self-portraits of the back, using posture as a metaphor for resilience, courage, and the ability to stand firm in the face of adversity, offering a quiet but powerful reflection on inner fortitude.

Artwork Sales
Many works in the show are available for purchase, with 65% of the proceeds going directly to the artists and 35% supporting the Center’s Art and Culture programs. The art exhibitions presented by the William Way LGBT Community Center throughout 2020 were never intended to be viewed exclusively in an online format. However, with the closing of our physical building due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all art exhibitions scheduled for 2020 will be presented as online exhibitions.

Although never the same as experiencing artworks in the Community Center’s gallery, online art exhibitions provide a safe viewing alternative, promote the artist’s creativity, and provide an opportunity for interested viewers to purchase artworks.

Prices for works that are available for sale are listed within the captions for each artwork. 65% of each sale will go to the artist and 35% will go to the Community Center to support our arts & culture programs. If you would like to make a purchase please email John Anderies, who will make arrangements to take your credit card information over the phone and make artwork delivery arrangements.

Thank you so much for your continued support and patronage of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ artists and the Community Center’s arts & culture programs.
