Community Mondays at William Way

Our Community Mondays initiative creates welcoming, engaging spaces where people can connect, share interests, and build meaningful relationships. Through a variety of events, participants are invited to explore creative expression, learn new crafts and games, and engage with diverse perspectives from across the LGBTQIA+ community. (18+)

Game Night (every first monday) 6:00-8:00PM

Our Game Night takes place every first Monday of the month from 6-8pm at St. Luke’s & the Epiphany. This monthly event gives individuals a chance to play all different types of games in a welcoming, low stakes environment! We have board games, trivia games, playing cards, and more.

All are welcomed to join us for this evening of fun, and always feel free to bring a game from your own personal collection that you’ve been wanting to play.

Out of the Box Open Mic (Every third Mondays) 6:00-8:00PM

Out of the Box Open Mic, the longest-running queer open mic in the country, is now hosted by William Way and takes place every third Monday from 6-8PM. This beloved series creates a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ performers of all kinds, from poetry and music to drag, storytelling, and more.

Out of the Box is a community-centered space. Performances that include discriminatory or harmful language will not be tolerated.

  • Z, known professionally as The Zanything (she/they) is a multiracial multimedia artist proud to follow in their mother’s footsteps as host of the longest-standing queer open mic in the country!

Since their debut in 2022, The ZanyThing has made waves and paved ways for the Philadelphia drag scene. They won Philly’s Best New Plus Size Performer 2022, they won the Nobodies Cycle 8 Philly Preliminary and were Top 3 in the New York Finale, and started Haus Of Them, a Philly based production haus that has produced dozens of queer nightlife events. Most notably, it is the only production collective in the queer nightlife scene consistently producing events with solely sapphic (meaning to us, non men attracted to non men) casts and crew members, ie Sapphictines, LESBDSM, a Very HOT Very Sapphic Variety Show, Bump & Grind: A Butch Femme Dance Party, etc etc.

Outside of drag, Z remains a storyteller with way too many mediums of interest. Throughout their youth, Z was part of all the school and camp plays, helped run the student magazine and open mic, and attended the Makeup Designory to hone their makeup skills. They graduated from UArts (rip) with honors and a first draft of their first book Homegirl, a poetry collection chronicling their complex five month period living with White supremacists.

Kraftin’ with kim (every fourth monday) 6:00-8:00PM

Kraftin’ with Kim takes place every fourth Monday of the month from 6-8pm at St Luke's & the Epiphany. This craft night is designed to give folks the opportunity to try out a different crafting practice each month, all taught and guided by our talented facilitator Kim. From tie-dying to bag charm making, come join us and learn a new artistic skill!

  • Kim is a professional crafter and an enthusiastic creator of cozy chaos. She is also William Way’s illustrious host of Kraftin’ with Kim- a space for making things with your hands, your heart and your community. Come for the crafts, stay for the vibes.
