Open Call for Artwork: Trans | Post 2025
The William Way LGBT Community Center in Philadelphia invites trans+ artists to submit postcard-size art for Trans | Post 2025, an exhibition on view at the Center from July 10 - August 28, 2025. The theme is open; we want to highlight the art and opinions of a diverse range of community members from the Philadelphia region and beyond. The postcards do not need to be identity focused, but artists must identify under the trans umbrella, including but not limited to: transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, agender, two-spirit, and intersex.
Trans | Post is an exhibition which was first organized by Emmett Ramsted in 2012, and was produced annually until 2015, and is now being revived a decade later. Postcards from the exhibition become part of our John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives, and will serve as a document to preserve trans+ perspectives during this time. Please mail your submissions by the postmark deadline of Friday, June 20th for inclusion in the exhibition.
In order to be included in the show:
Make one to three 4"x6" postcard(s). Postcards must be 4"x6" and as thick as card stock to mail properly (cards will also be accepted mailed in an envelope if you are worried about postal damage). Please see this helpful guide about making an mailing your own postcards: www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Postcard
In the message section on the back, include your name and pronouns (or you can send anonymously or with a pseudonym), and any additional message, details, or context that you’d like to include. Please note that return addresses are not necessary for postcards, and that these postcards will be in public view!
