The staff of the Wilcox Archives is happy to provide our services and support to the LGBT community. Here are some ways we think we can be of help. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss these and other possibilities.
Staff of the Archives are available for consulting on a range of topics connected to personal and organizational archives, including on issues of arrangement, description, organization, preservation, housing, and so on. We are also happy to give recommendations to other service providers in the Archives community.
We regularly offer assistance to area educators who would like to visit with their classes or develop assignments that make use of the Archives. We can offer tours of the Archives, do “show-and-tells” on particular topics, lead hands-on classroom exercises, and assist individual students in the research and use of the Archives.
We encourage those with an interest in our materials to make an appointment to visit and use our materials in person. But for those who have a simple question or who cannot visit the Archives we are happy to do up to a half-hour of research in the Archives. Please contact us at email@example.com or give us a call.
Rights & Reproduction
With just a few exceptions we do not own the copyright to most of the material in our collection and cannot grant rights for their use. We offer photocopying and scanning of our materials free of charge within the capabilities of our equipment and the limits of our available time. For photography of oversized or three-dimensional materials, and for duplication of audiovisual material, we pass along charges from outside vendors. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss these options.
Talks & Lectures
Archives staff are happy to give presentations on Archival and LGBTQ history topics to area community groups, professional associations, and work organizations. Please contact us at email@example.com to discuss the topics and types of presentations we can provide.
Tours of the Gayborhood
Curator Bob Skiba is also a tour guide in the City of Philadelphia. He offers walking tours of the city’s Gayborhood, exploring past and present sites of LGBTQ revelry and resistance. Please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
